ICF International (Fairfax, VA) has received a contract from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to support the Low Emission Asian Development (LEAD) program in several Asian nations. The scope of the contract, which has a value of $21.5 million over its five-year lifetime, is to help Asian governments, businesses, and other organizations develop and strengthen the institutional capacity for sustained low-emissions development. Under the LEAD program, USAID and its contractors also prepare greenhouse gas (GHS) emissions inventories and assess the carbon footprints of all major economic sectors. ICF will also assist USAID in expanding carbon market investment in Asia by working with the private sector to prepare corporate emissions inventories and take other steps to participate in the carbon markets.
