Honeywell Process Solutions (Morristown, NJ) has received a 15-year, $88.6 million contract from the city of Los Angeles to upgrade the control systems used to manage the city’s wastewater treatment system. The Honeywell technology will provide system operators with centralized control of the entire system, which connects 6,700 miles of sewer lines to four main treatment plants handling a total of 550 million gallons of wastewater each day for Los Angeles and 29 other cities. The project is scheduled to begin during the first half of 2012 and will take an estimated seven years to complete. Honeywell will provide support services for another eight years.
